India holds the Presidency of the G20 from 1st December 2022 to 30 November 2023. The Indian Presidency this year will focus on the theme, ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’.
JANBHAGIDARI
The Ministry of Education, Government of India, collaborated with all states and union territories (UTs) to organize 'Janbhagidari' events across the country.
The main objective of the 'Janbhagidari' initiative is to promote and endorse the theme of "Ensuring Foundation Literacy and Numeracy (FLN)," with a specific emphasis on incorporating FLN principles into blended learning approaches.
EDUCATION WORKING GROUPS
As a part of the G-20 initiatives, 4th Education Working Group meeting was organized in Pune, India. The primary focus of this meeting was Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) in the context of education.
This years G20 Education Working Groups perspective throughout is a life-long one, emphaiszing inclusion, quality and equality in all policies.
ASSAM IN JANBHAGIDARI
In the state of Assam, a series of activities and programs have been organized at various levels, including schools, districts, and the state itself. These initiatives are designed to support and advance the cause of foundational literacy and numeracy, aligning with the broader national and international efforts to improve education, especially in the context of blended learning.
Between 1st and 15th June, 2023, various activities like TLM mela, art and craft competition, rally, rangoli, poem recitation, storytelling etc. have been conducted to generate awareness about G-20, NEP and FLN among all stakeholders. The events overall covered 62,128 schools, 21,60,269 students, 1,88,020 teachers and 2,87,207 community members.
